Feature Friday- Castle Crashers Beanie

Have you ever heard of Castle Crashers?  My brother plays this game on Xbox and it has the characters as shown above.  He really likes this fun little game.  Currently, his favorite color is green.  He was looking around on the internet and found this really cute beanie in the style of the castle crasher. Well, he wanted one so he called up a very talented woman, my Grandmother.  My brother emailed a link to my Grandma. Not too long later (I mean, really she probably made it in a day or two and then mailed it out it was that quick) my brother received the following

The top parts are pointy just like the picture, but you just cant tell in the picture above. I was so excited. You mean to tell me she made that just from a photo? Yeah, she is that fantastic. My other brother saw this hat and immediately called my Grandma and asked for an orange one (his favorite color).  I just thought I would share something really cute with you all.  I love my Grandma.

Finished Crochet Scarf!!!

Phew! My scarf is finished!

Thanks to my lovely husband for modeling it last night for me! :D

So there it is kiddos!  Long and wrapped about twice around his neck.  It's nice and soft and warm! :D

I didn't really follow a pattern :o  But for those of you who crochet - I did 20 to start, and did all HDC, and I'd guess about 200 or so length wise.  Happy Crafting!

Semi-Homemade Scones

Want an easy way to make homemade scones? These little guys are perfect with some homemade strawberry jam. All you will need is refrigerator biscuits and cinnamon sugar.

First, cut the biscuits into halves. Heat up some oil and fry up those little puppies when the oil is hot.

Let them dry a bit on a papertowel.

Roll them in cinnamon sugar.

What I'm Working on Monday

Another work in progress today kiddos!

Yes, I am currently doing two crochet projects at once! :O  I busted out a bunch of granny squares for the hubs afghan, and got tired of circles/squares!  So I am now almost done with this easy scarf! :D  It's nice and warm and soft and got me out of the granny square funk! :D

Yes, I have a HUGE ball of yarn.  My FIL is an evil genius and crafted a holder for my skeins.  It's just a dowel stuck into a block of wood, but its perfect!  The yarn gently turns when I need more.  Love it! :D

What Im working on Monday :)

My mom's birthday is coming up soon. I wanted to do something nice for her birthday. Well, I have started by asking her for a picture of her wedding.  I found something on another blog that I thought was cute and wanted to try.  They only problem was that the pictures from my parents wedding are 27 years old, and this particular picture was glue into a lace frame without any glass on it.  So you can see that there are some spots on the picture that need taking care of, as well as the bottom and the top where the glue was.  Well, I have yet to finish my completed project (and I wont reveal it here because my mom reads this!) but here is the begginning of my edits:

The major differences for now are the top and bottom and a couple of black spots on my moms dress.  But I am working on the rest and hoping that mom isnt sad by me spoiling half of the birthday surprise.  Ill pose a picture of the present after Thursday.   Love you mom! :)

A Work In Progress

So - it's Monday.  And I haven't FINISHED a craft yet.  I've been sewing, and ironing, and my placemats are almost done....and my husband linked THIS to me.  So out we went this weekend to the store to buy all the yarn.  So, now I have been forced to start this project...and learn to make granny squares! :D  Yes, I only know the crochet I've mastered granny squares!

So I've got about 10 squares done now - only 242 left to go! :D

Here is an awesome project from Jamie at her hobby. She makes Snakes from Dad’s old Ties!  I always love projects for boys because both my sister and I have sons.  Go check out Jamie’s blog to see some other cute things she has.
