Baby Food - Cooked Apples

So - I recently bought chunked apple baby food - the stage 3 I believe it was.  Everett loved it.  Then I thought, why am I buying this?  I can cook apples!  It was apples in white grape juice concentrate.

So...I decided I would attempt it!  I didn't have white grape juice, so I used cranberry apple juice concentrate.  (Yes, it did turn pink.  Weird, but delicious!)
All I did was peel 4 Granny Smith apples, cube them, and put them in a saucepan with about 1/4 cup of water, and 6 Tbsp. of thawed cranberry apple concentrate.  I let the apples cook for a bit, and when they were soft, done!  Some of them were too small and turned to mush.  You do not want this stage, unless you want applesauce :(  So, hopefully, if you have kiddos and need a meal, you can use this and make something yummy! And learn from my mistake, and don't let them cook to mush! :D

  1. Yummy! I do this at work in the AM, except no cranberries, I might have to start adding that!
